AVENIDA DA REPÚBLICA
This three-story atypical building, owned by a private real estate developer, dates back to the early 20th century and is located on one of the main avenues of Lisbon. It has remained uninhabited for over ten years.
The mission is to rehabilitate and expand the living space of the building to accommodate a mixed-use program combining a youth hostel and short-term rental apartments.
To preserve the historical character and architectural richness of the facade on the main street, our proposal relies on a discreet two-story attic solution that is both modern and respectful of the existing style.
The proposal was accepted by the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage (DGPC) and is now awaiting a response from the municipal authorities of Lisbon.
