Winner of the 2023 Luxury Lifestyle Award PT, Quinta da Joaninha was as a captivating refurbishment project we had the privileged to work on as architects but also main contractor.

Built in the 1960s, this 1.2-hectare estate had unique architectural charm, with a modernist bedroom box set atop a stone base.

 

Our approach involved preserving the essence of the original architecture while smoothly transitioning it into the 21st century. This was achieved by enlarging the windows to invite more natural light, minimizing the exposed stone within the house, and modernizing the layout of bedrooms and living spaces.
 

To add a touch of sophistication, we incorporated oak paneling and utilized four distinct types of Portuguese stone, weaving them seamlessly into the design to create distinctive bathrooms and noteworthy features throughout the entire project.
